Artificial Radio Hour with Rev. Dr. Dr. Phill Part 13

Once upon a time, it was 1980. I was there. (I don't recall it all that well, to be honest I was quite small.)

Some of you also were there. Here is some music from that time.

This will be part one of a series: The 80s. I'll cover 80-83 at least, but maybe more.

Hey! Anybody got any survey answers? Send them in whenever.

I have at least one piece of music from every year from 1919 to at least a couple of years ago. (It's hard to keep up with current stuff, ok?) If you have a favorite year, let me know and I'll see what I can do. (I'll see what music obscure weirdos were making that year.)

Enjoy!

Artificial Radio Hour with Rev. Dr. Dr. Phill Part 12

Memphis Slim has cool hair.
Here's the new show! Some blues, a bit of jazz, and it isn't so long.
That's Maya Rudolph's mom!
I guess the Ruby episodes were adding length. I like them, but I also like a shorter episode so I dunno. What do you all think?
Willie.
Speaking of what you think, I did send out an extra email this week, hopefully that wasn't a bother. I'm excited to see what your show theme ideas are!
Still running.
In my house, we call a coincidental synchronicity a "shrimp dish". There was a shrimp dish scenario this week when two podcasts recorded months apart ended up talking about the same thing. That was weird, so it definitely had to go in the show!
"Breeze" Glen. He insists on the quotation marks.

Enjoy!

Artificial Radio Hour with Rev. Dr. Dr. Phill Part 11

Maria Bamford (and Jimmy Pardo)

Here is part 11! (They aren't really parts of a whole, except in the sense that everything is.)

Imogen Heap & her crazy gestural music gloves

That Imogen Heap song is one of those I could listen to over and over. I have, in fact.

Blossom Dearie

It wasn't my plan to make this lady-heavy, iTunes shuffle picked these, mostly. Blossom Dearie was on Schoolhouse Rock, you know!

That's a lot of dogs.
According to Earl Dean Mitchell, Margie is subtly flipping Clancy's Organ Lounge the bird on this album cover. You can hear more of her at WFMU's blog here.

Enjoy!

Artificial Radio Hour with Rev. Dr. Dr. Phill Part 10

Finally, a new podcast! I insisted on using new software to put it together, so it took a lot longer. It also came out longer, it's almost an actual hour now! (I would rather keep it shorter, myself.)

Some Industrial music here, danceable & not, along with more Ruby and a long chunk of Dr. Howll talking about old sci-fi/fantasy stuff.

I'm gonna try and get another show out this week, but don't hold yer breath...

Enjoy!
